MHquick Chrome: A simple idea, becoming the first, and saving cost for an airline

A few weeks back Malaysia Airlines had a soft launch of a product called MHquick which can be considered as one of my final contribution to Malaysia Airlines before I left. MHquick is a google chrome extension that takes the advantage of their mobile platform. This is a simple idea I had on a weekend that I created to help the public in having a quick access to the Malaysia Airlines online functionalities without leaving a website they are on. MHquick chrome is basically a subset of a bigger original idea (which I will talk more on my coming post).

MHquick chrome was created by using an IFRAME and embedding the MAS mobile platform (I know all of you tech peeps reading this just had a WTF moment as you know this is simple to do) which was built originally by Sitalab. The idea was simple but the goal was to accomplish few important points which was ease of use and also being cost saving on the development side. I was surprise this idea never occurred in anybody’s mind in other airlines but this could be due to some system constraints with their internal applications. You can install the extension by going to Google Chrome app store.

It was also nice to see this idea being recognize and creating inspiration for others to develop on the idea and be creative as below:
